Motivating Quote of the Day

The human body is capable of amazing physical deeds. If we could just free ourselves from our perceived limitations and tap into our internal fire, the possibilities are endless.

I remember being in this spot before and it feels really good to return.  After a week of eating really clean foods the body starts to be capable of processing the good energy we are putting into our bodies.  Prior to when the moment occurs the efficiency in which our bodies would process food was slower because items like grains, dairy, and just plain junk food slow down the process.  Think of it like a slow moving drain.  This challenge is a sort of liquid plumber helping us clean out our own pipes:-).

I was going to post this on Sunday after I returned home from a hike.  My muscles were sore and tight after Friday's Hot Yoga at night and Saturday morning's gym workout.  Sunday's hike was not difficult at all, so on the way back to the car we ran the last mile.  Running that mile felt really good.  During the run the soreness melted away as the jarring motion warmed everything up, and when we reached the car I was disappointed we were finished.  One word came to mind and it was 'more'.  This one word is very powerful for me because it can be applied anywhere.  We are here to push ourselves, to feel better, and figure out where this challenge will take us.  I'll start with some lines here.  Maybe you guys can comment and add extra ones to the list.

Do more because that's why we are here.
Do more because it feels so good
Do more because it will take the soreness away
Do more because it can only lead to improvements in other areas of our lives
Do more because it breaks through barriers

Cheers!

Great Article

Hey everyone,

Week one is behind us! Congrats all for taking the challenge and completing a full week of dedication and determination in most cases. I am extremely proud of you all. I just want to remind you all that daily reflections add up to one bonus point at the end of the week and weekly challenges add up to two bonus points at the end of the week. So if you have that beer or that piece of cheese you can gain back a point by doing the reflections and challenges.

I was cruising the Internet as I do and I found this website that I love. It is called breaking muscle. There is so much information on this website it is sort of a no brain er not to visit it or love it. I found this article. Hello this so relates to us- it is about the whole life challenge. Take a look. Tell me what you think!

Hot Yoga Anyone?

Lindsay posted an invitation through email to go tomorrow (Sunday) at 10:00.  I plan on going.  Is anyone else?

I just started doing this hot yoga thing and want to get into a routine of Cross Fit on MWF followed by Hot Yoga Tues, Thurs, Sunday. I feel like this will definitely work in concert well and get my mobility up and running to where it needs to be.

Oh and I just want to state here that (for now at least) hot yoga is a very tough workout!  I was exhausted last night afterward and couldn't keep my eyes open past 10:00:-).

Little Box Jumps of horror

I had a funny thing happen at this morning's workout and thought I would share.  The start of Part 2 of the WOD is to find the max height for box jumps.  This was a first for me, and I like box jumps.  The problem was that each time I tried to add a new plate to the box to add height I had to remove the added plate, jump at the previous height once or twice and then add a new plate to test out the new height.  It happened every time I added a new level, and I couldn't stop myself from freezing before trying the new height....hilarious :-).

Motivating Quote of the Day

- It is far better to be exhausted from success than to be rested from failure.

This quote was emailed to me at the perfect time because I was sooooo exhausted after yesterday's crossfit workout and really considered not going as I was heading home to change.  Once I was there and looked at the board, I then contemplated going home instead of doing the workout!! HA! But after all was said and done, I sucked it up because I am not a wimp even though my mind tried to convince me othewise and I got a GREAT workout.  It hurt, it wasn't fun, and I might've even told Brian that I hated him (I didn't mean it!) but as I walked out of the gym and checked my phone....This quote made me feel so much better for getting it done.

MIND OVER MATTER! You guys are awesome and we can do this!!

Welcome

Welcome to another communication forum. This forum will be a little different because this is where we can have team strategies, inspiration and a gaggle of other things......to be discovered.

The first thing I want everyone to contribute is a team name idea. The next thing I want you to contribute is one way that will help you be successful for this week. Let us just start with week one. one week, one day at a time.

Let us start with commenting on this thread and then when someone has a new idea for a post including myself we can make them and then comment on the thread. Simple- I hope. Also if you look up top I have a tab that is for recipes. Secret to success- preparation and inspiration. Do not be shy to share. Here we goooooooooooo1
